SwoopScores ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that displays RateMyProfessor scores on the University of Utah class schedule website. This policy describes what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
SwoopScores does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) from its users. The Extension only reads the names of professors as they are displayed on the local DOM of the University of Utah class schedule website.
The professor names read from the webpage are used strictly to query the public RateMyProfessor GraphQL API. This allows the Extension to fetch and display the corresponding rating scores next to the professor's name on your screen. We do not sell, share, or use any user data or browsing history for advertising, tracking, or any other commercial purposes.
The Extension queries the RateMyProfessors public GraphQL API to retrieve scores. Please review RateMyProfessors' Privacy Policy for information on how they handle queries to their servers.
To improve performance and limit network requests, rating data retrieved from RateMyProfessor is temporarily cached locally on your device using your browser's native session storage (chrome.storage.session). This cache is automatically wiped when your browser session ends. No data is stored on external servers or persisted beyond your current browsing session.
